What Lode for iPhone does
Lode is a companion to Lode for Mac. It lets you create and edit Markdown notes, browse your .md / .diff / .patch files, and read color-coded diffs — all synced through your own iCloud.
Getting started
- Sign in to iCloud on your iPhone/iPad (Settings → your name → iCloud, with iCloud Drive on). Lode stores everything in your iCloud, so this is required.
- Open Notes to create a Markdown note (saves automatically), or Files to browse files in the shared Lode workspace.
- On your Mac, files placed in the Lode workspace appear here automatically, and vice versa.
FAQ / Troubleshooting
The Files / Notes list is empty. Make sure you're signed in to iCloud with iCloud Drive enabled, and that there are .md / .diff files in the Lode workspace. New files may take a moment to sync.
A file shows a download icon. It exists in iCloud but isn't downloaded yet. Tap it to download, then view it offline.
Changes aren't appearing on my Mac. iCloud sync can take a few seconds to minutes depending on your network. Confirm both devices use the same Apple ID and have iCloud Drive on.
Free now. Lode for iPhone is currently free. Advanced features (planned) may later require Lode Pro.
