Yes — every feature is free and unlocked, with no ads. The only in-app purchase is an optional "buy the developer a coffee" tip in the parent area (behind the parental gate); it unlocks nothing, and children can't reach it.

Tap the gear icon — the parental gate appears right away, and once you pass it the whole Settings page is the parent zone (since version 1.1.20260918; earlier versions had a separate Parent Center inside Settings). The gate shows an adult-level multiplication question with three answers; parents can also switch it to a 4-digit passcode of their own. Anything that could leave the app — exporting statistics, the optional tip jar, the App Store pages of our other apps — sits behind it, so children can't leave the app or change limits without an adult.

Check that your device volume is turned up and not muted, and that the silent switch (iPhone/iPad) is off — PlayGoKids respects the physical silent switch. In the app, open Settings and make sure voice/sound is enabled. All audio plays on-device, so no internet is needed.

Open Settings → Language and choose English, 中文, or Follow System. Text and voice both switch together.

There are three modes. Choose Beginner for Capture Go with guidance (capture a stone to win), Improve to learn territory, or Advanced for a real match against the KataGo neural net. Visual hints (green / red / orange / blue star) help at every level.

The advanced engine runs on-device (CoreML) and needs nothing extra. On Mac it can optionally use a KataGo engine you have already installed yourself; the app never bundles or downloads an executable, and if it's absent or fails, it automatically falls back to the built-in engine.

All games, statistics, and settings are stored on the device only and never uploaded. PlayGoKids collects no data at all. See our Privacy Policy.

請確認裝置音量已調高、未靜音，iPhone/iPad 的靜音開關已關閉（圍棋小學堂尊重實體靜音鍵）。並在 App 的「設定」中確認語音／音效已開啟。所有聲音都在裝置本機播放，不需要網路。

進入「設定 → 語言」，可選 English、中文或跟隨系統。文字與語音會一起切換。

共有三種模式：初學為吃子棋＋提示指導（先吃到對方就贏）、中階學圍地、進階挑戰 KataGo 神經網路真戰。各階段都有綠／紅／橘／藍星視覺提示輔助。

進階引擎在裝置端（CoreML）運算，不需額外安裝。在 Mac 上可選擇使用「你自己已安裝」的 KataGo；App 不會內建或下載任何執行檔，若不存在或失敗會自動改用內建引擎。

所有對局、統計與設定只存在裝置本機，不會上傳。圍棋小學堂完全不收集任何資料。詳見隱私權政策。
