RestBud is free and there are no ads. The only in-app purchases are three optional "tip jar" donations inside the parent settings, behind the parental gate. They unlock nothing — every feature works without paying — and children cannot reach them.

No — the limit is daily-cumulative, not continuous use. If your child plays 10 minutes, stops for two hours, then plays 20 more, that still adds up to the 30-minute bucket and a rest is triggered. This is deliberate: a cumulative limit is harder to game than a continuous one.

Not in this version. RestBud manages apps only. Ticking a "category" in the system picker has no effect, and individual websites inside Safari are not covered — though Safari itself can be managed as an app. Website and category support are on the backlog.

Two common causes. First, the reminder is delivered as a notification — check that notifications are allowed for RestBud (the voice settings screen shows the current permission status and a shortcut to system settings). Second, if the device's physical mute switch is on, the sound is silenced by the system. In both cases the screen still locks on schedule — only the sound is affected.

Apple's shield screen is static and cannot run a live timer. Instead RestBud writes the time play resumes directly on it — "you can play again at HH:MM" — and each time your child taps the locked app, the screen is recomposed with the current information. A live countdown is on the backlog.

A few platform-level settings help: in iOS Settings → Screen Time → Content & Privacy Restrictions, turn on "Don't Allow" for deleting apps (so RestBud can't be removed) and consider restricting changes to date & time. Note the parental gate is a multiplication question — a soft gate, not absolute security for an older child. Turning management off requires passing the gate twice, and rules are archived rather than deleted, so the home screen shows a clear "management is off" notice and you can restore it in one tap.

No. Each device is set up on its own and rules stay on that device. There is no account and no cloud sync in this version.

The most likely cause is that Screen Time authorization was revoked in iOS Settings. RestBud detects this when it opens or returns to the foreground and shows a warning banner — re-granting authorization restores your existing rules. The diagnostics panel in parent settings shows the current schedule state if you need more detail.

這一版還不行。RestBud 只管 App；在系統選擇器裡勾「類別」不會生效，Safari 裡的個別網站也不在管控範圍內——但 Safari 本身可以當成 App 納管。網站與類別支援已列入後續規劃。

常見兩個原因。第一，提醒是透過通知送出的，請確認 RestBud 的通知權限已允許（語音設定頁會常駐顯示目前權限狀態與前往系統設定的捷徑）。第二，如果手機的實體靜音鍵是開著的，系統會讓提示音靜音。這兩種情況下畫面仍然會照時間鎖上，只有聲音受影響。

Apple 的遮罩畫面是靜態的，無法跑即時計時器。所以 RestBud 改成直接把恢復時間寫在畫面上——「HH:MM 就可以再玩囉」；而且孩子每次點開被鎖的 App，畫面都會用當下的資訊重新產生一次。即時倒數已列入後續規劃。

有幾個系統層級的設定會有幫助：到 iOS 設定 → 螢幕使用時間 → 內容與隱私權限制，把「刪除 App」設為不允許（這樣 RestBud 不會被刪掉），也可以考慮限制更改日期與時間。另外，家長閘是一道乘法題，屬於軟性防線，對夠大的孩子不是絕對安全。因此關閉管控需要連過兩次家長閘，而且規則只會封存不會刪除；首頁會顯示醒目的「管控已關閉」提示，你可以一鍵恢復。

不行。每台裝置各自設定、規則存在該台裝置上。這一版沒有帳號，也沒有雲端同步。

最可能的原因是螢幕使用時間的授權在 iOS 設定裡被撤銷了。RestBud 會在開啟或回到前景時偵測並顯示警示 banner——重新授權後，原本的規則就會恢復。若需要更多細節，家長設定裡的診斷面板會顯示目前的排程狀態。

RestBud 不收集任何資料。規則與你的錄音只存在裝置本機，螢幕使用時間取得的使用資訊也不會離開裝置。詳見隱私權政策。
