LetDrum collects no personal data. There are no servers operated by us, no analytics, no tracking, no advertising, and no account or login — and the app runs fully offline. This App is fully compliant with Apple's "Made for Kids" guidelines and the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). We do not collect any personally identifiable information from users, including children under the age of 13.
About the microphone (please read)
LetDrum's practice-pad mode and DIY drum-kit mode use the microphone solely for real-time, on-device rhythm detection — so the app can tell whether a hit landed on the beat, and which homemade "drum" (a bottle, a can…) was struck. What this means in practice:
- Audio is processed in memory only, on the device, in real time.
- It is never recorded, never saved to a file, and never transmitted anywhere. There is nothing to play back and nothing we could access.
- The microphone is active only during a practice session and is released the moment you leave the practice screen.
- The microphone is optional: the touch drum pads and falling-note levels work without it, and the app asks for permission only when you enter a microphone mode.
What the app stores, and where
- Game progress (levels, XP, coins, stars, speed-ladder BPM) is stored on your device only and never transmitted to any server.
- Settings (language, sound toggles, latency calibration value) are stored on your device only.
- DIY drum-kit sound profiles (a small numeric "timbre fingerprint" of each container — not a recording) are stored on your device only and never leave it.
What we do NOT collect
- No name, email address, or any personal identifier
- No location data
- No recordings of any kind — microphone audio is analyzed live and immediately discarded
- No usage analytics or crash reporting sent to us
- No advertising identifiers (IDFA); we do not use App Tracking Transparency (ATT)
- No third-party SDKs that collect data
Children's privacy (COPPA / GDPR-K)
LetDrum is designed for children to use under parental supervision. Because we collect no data at all, the app complies with COPPA (US) and GDPR-K (EU) by design. No information about child users is ever collected, stored outside the device, or shared.
Third-party services
LetDrum uses no third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services, and makes no network connections.
Third-party asset licensing
The drum sounds are one-shot samples released under Creative Commons Zero (CC0, public domain) from freesound.org, credited in the app under Parent Area → Credits. CC0 assets carry no rights restrictions and, being audio files, collect no data.
Ad-Free Experience
To ensure a safe environment for children, this App is 100% ad-free. We do not display any third-party advertisements or use any ad-tracking mechanisms.
Outbound Links & Parental Gate
Any external links (such as a support email, App Store page, the family app shelf, or any purchase entry point added in the future) are secured behind a Parental Gate to ensure children cannot access the internet or leave the App without adult supervision.
Purchases
The initial release is completely free with no in-app purchases. If paid features are added later, the purchase entry will always sit behind a parental gate and be handled by Apple's payment system; this policy will be updated accordingly.
Data deletion
All app data is stored locally on your device. To delete it, uninstall the app, or reset the DIY drum-kit profile within the app.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, we will update the effective date above. Significant changes will be noted in the App Store release notes.
