After months of development and TestFlight beta testing, SunnyWalker v1.0 (Build 2) was officially submitted to the App Store for review. The first step into Apple's review system — nervous, hopeful, and proud to have reached this milestone.

Five days after submission, the verdict arrived — rejected. Two guidelines were flagged.
⚠️ Guideline 4 — Design: Permission requests in wrong language
The app's permission request strings are not written in the same language as the app's localization. All user-facing text must match the app's configured locale.
⚠️ Guideline 2.3.8 — Accurate Metadata: Subtitle implies a Kids app
The app subtitle contains "kids," implying a children's app — but it wasn't submitted under the Kids category. Fix: remove "kids" from the subtitle, or select "Made for Kids" in App Store Connect.

Both rejection issues addressed and the app resubmitted for review:
✅ Fix 1: Unified all permission strings to Traditional Chinese
Updated all Info.plist Usage Descriptions (microphone, location, etc.) to Traditional Chinese, matching the app's primary localization.
✅ Fix 2: Removed "kids"-related term from subtitle
Updated the App Store Connect subtitle to remove any wording that implied a children-only app, so it no longer conflicts with the "Made for Kids" category guidelines.

The day after resubmission, the approval arrived. SunnyWalker v1.0 is now live on the App Store. From first submission (June 4) to approval: 8 days, with 1 rejection and 1 resubmission.
Two days after launch, the first feature update v1.2.20260613 (Build 10) went out: Gentle Reminder mode gained "ring ~30s in segments," Recordings returned to Settings, and voice-clip preview was polished. Xcode validation passed first try, build attached in ASC, submitted.

The first week's real scorecard: 8 first-time downloads, 5 redownloads, 19.1% conversion, 127 impressions, 42 product-page views. The same day, the biggest update yet — SunnyWalker Pro (v1.3.20260615) — was submitted: import any audio file from Files as a ringtone, a fix for built-in ringtones not playing in Gentle Reminder mode, and the app's first in-app purchase (US$1.99 lifetime unlock, Family Sharing, free Pro for existing users). A first IAP must be reviewed together with the binary.

SunnyWalker Pro (v1.3.20260615), carrying the first in-app purchase, stayed stuck in review. On 7/7 Apple replied that, after the resubmission, issues remained — Guideline 2.3 Accurate Metadata: the review team was "still unable to locate some of the features described in your metadata. Specifically, SunnyWalker Pro." Alongside it, Guideline 2.1 Information Needed: more information was required to continue the review. The crux: the paywalled Pro features were hard for the reviewer to reach, so clearer guidance or supporting info was needed.
