LetAbacus collects no personal data. There are no servers operated by us, no analytics, no tracking, no advertising, and no account or login. All learning content and progress work fully offline. This app complies with Apple's "Made for Kids" guidelines and the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). We do not collect any personally identifiable information from users, including children under the age of 13.
What the app stores, and where
- Lesson progress (stars per lesson, drill records, unlocked bead skins) is stored in a small file on your device only and never transmitted anywhere.
- Settings (language, listening pace, bead value labels) are stored on your device only. The app's privacy manifest declares UserDefaults use (Apple reason code CA92.1) for the language preference.
What we do NOT collect
- No name, email address, or any personal identifier
- No location data
- No voice or audio — all speech is output only (system text-to-speech and built-in sound effects). There is no recording and the app never requests the microphone.
- No usage analytics or crash reporting sent to us
- No advertising identifiers (IDFA); we do not use App Tracking Transparency (ATT)
- No third-party SDKs that collect data
Children's privacy (COPPA / GDPR-K)
LetAbacus is designed for young children to use under parental supervision. Because we collect no data at all, the app complies with COPPA (US) and GDPR-K (EU) by design. No information about child users is ever collected, stored outside the device, or shared.
No sensitive permissions requested
LetAbacus does not request microphone, camera, photos, location, contacts, or notification permissions, so no permission prompts ever appear. All audio (bead clicks, voice encouragement, number calling) is played on the device — no recording, no microphone.
Purchases (parent-zone tip jar)
The app is completely free and every feature is unlocked by practicing. The only in-app purchases are three optional consumable "tip jar" donations (buy the developer a coffee). They sit inside the parent zone behind a parental gate (an adult-level multiplication question — no fixed password, by design), unlock nothing, and are unreachable by children. Payment is handled entirely by Apple's StoreKit; connecting to Apple for these products is the app's only network activity, and no user data is sent to us.
Third-party services
LetAbacus uses no third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services. Apart from Apple's StoreKit (the optional tip jar, and the native App Store sheet in the parent-gated "More from rexcode" shelf), the app makes no network connections.
Ad-Free Experience
To ensure a safe environment for children, this app is 100% ad-free. We do not display any third-party advertisements or use any ad-tracking mechanisms.
Data deletion
All app data is stored locally on your device. To delete it, uninstall the app, or use "Reset all progress" in the parent zone.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, we will update the effective date above. Significant changes will be noted in the App Store release notes.
