What Bloomling does

Bloomling is a walled-garden browser for kids — children can only open pages a parent approves, and the home screen also has a Puzzle Garden of logic games made by rexcode. 100% ad-free, no tracking, and the developer receives no personal data (the privacy policy lists item by item what the sites you add can receive). Available for iPhone and iPad.

Common questions

How do I add pages my child can see?
Tap the gear in the top-right of the home screen → pass the parental gate (a multiplication question or your 4-digit passcode) → tap "Add card" and paste a URL. You can add regular web pages, YouTube videos, and single Instagram posts. The icon next to the URL field tells you right away: a green check means it opens (tap it to preview), a red cross means it's invalid, and an exclamation mark means it's already on the list. Type a name yourself, or turn on "Get name from website" to fill in the first few words of the page title.

Can I group web cards, or change the order of the home screen?
Yes (from 1.2.20261005). In parent settings, open "Web Settings" to add, rename, delete and drag-reorder groups; "Pages picked by Mom & Dad" and "Puzzle Garden" are built in. Each group is its own home-screen section, titled with the name you chose, and each card's edit screen lets you pick its group. To change the order of "Today's Activities" and the groups, drag them in "Home Order" in parent settings. Deleting a group moves its cards to the first group, so nothing is lost. The exported .md list carries groups too: on import, cards return to groups with the same name, and new group names are created automatically.

Can my child reach other websites?
No. The home screen allows only the exact URLs in your list. Any on-page or external link is blocked and shows a friendly "Ask a grown-up for this page" message.

Can I make features appear only on certain days?
Yes. Every card and built-in activity can be set to appear only on the weekdays you choose.

I set it up on another iPad — how do I move it to my child's iPad?
Parent Settings has "Export bundle" (creates a .bloomset file you AirDrop over) and "Send over the same Wi-Fi." No Apple account, no cloud.

Are voice answers safe?
Yes. Speech recognition runs entirely on-device; audio is never uploaded or stored. Unsupported devices fall back to tap-to-answer.

What if I forget the parental gate answer?
The gate has two modes; you pick one in Parent Settings. Math is a random three-digit multiplication multiple-choice question (nothing to memorize) — just use a calculator. Passcode is a 4-digit code you choose. If you forget the passcode, deleting and reinstalling the app resets it to 1234 — but your site list and other settings live on the device too and are cleared with it. After switching to a passcode, it's worth keeping an exported bundle as a backup.

What is the Puzzle Garden? Does it cost anything?
Since 1.1.20261002 the home screen has a "Puzzle Garden" section with 11 logic puzzles made by rexcode (Slide Puzzle, Push the Boxes, Tower of Hanoi, Marble Run and more). One card per game, ready to play — free, no ads, no sign-in. The game pages load no analytics or third-party scripts.

I updated but don't see the games on my home screen.
To leave your own arrangement alone, only devices still on the untouched default list get the game cards automatically. If you edited your list, add the games you want from Parent Settings — one URL per game, e.g. https://rexcode.app/garden/letslide/?embed=1 (adding only the /garden/ index won't work: opening any game from it is a different URL and gets blocked). Switching off the Web List also hides the Puzzle Garden.

Are there any purchases in the app?
Every feature is free. The only purchase is the optional "buy the developer a coffee" tip in the grown-ups area (since 1.0.20260912) — behind the parental gate, unlocking nothing, with payment handled by Apple.
