RestBud is free and there are no ads. The only in-app purchases are three optional "tip jar" donations inside the parent settings, behind the parental gate. They unlock nothing — every feature works without paying — and children cannot reach them.

Not since 1.1.20261005. A rest round is counted in small steps (about 5 minutes for a 30-minute round); if the apps were put down for at least the break length you set between two steps, that counts as a real break and the round starts over. Short pauses still add up, so stepping away for a minute doesn't reset anything. In 1.0 the round kept counting across the whole day, which is why a child could be locked the moment they picked the iPad up in the afternoon. "Status & history" in parent settings shows how far each rest rule is into its current round.

Websites: yes, from 1.1.20261009, as an allow list. In parent settings, turn on "Allowed websites" and only the sites on the list open, all day — everything else is blocked, in Safari and other browsers alike. Add YouTube (with the domains its videos need) or school sites in one tap, or type your own, up to 50; the home screen shows "Websites you can open" and a tap opens them. It is allow-only and all day: there are no time windows for websites, and you can't block just a few sites while leaving the rest open. If the list is empty, every website is blocked. Categories: ticking a "category" (or websites) in the system app picker still has no effect, and the picker says so.

First, update to 1.1.20261005 or later: in 1.0 a recorded voice was stored where iOS would not play it, so reminders could stay silent — that is fixed. Then check: (1) notifications are allowed for RestBud (the voice settings screen shows the current permission status and a shortcut to system settings); (2) the device's physical mute switch is off — reminders are time sensitive since 1.1, so Focus no longer mutes them, but the mute switch still does; (3) the recording is no longer than 12 seconds — longer ones play only their first 12 seconds, so re-record a short phrase. In every case the screen still locks on schedule — only the sound is affected.

Apple's shield screen is static and cannot run a live timer. Instead RestBud writes the time play resumes directly on it — "you can play again at HH:MM" — and each time your child taps the locked app, the screen is recomposed with the current information. A live countdown is on the backlog.

From 1.1.20261012, turn these on in the "Device protections" section of parent settings: no deleting apps (so RestBud can't be removed), no installing apps, no in-app purchases, date and time locked to automatic, and blocking adult websites. RestBud applies them directly — no trip through iOS Settings — when you tap Save & apply, and they pause along with management. They stay in effect only while RestBud has Screen Time access; if that access is switched off in Settings, iOS removes them, and the app records the interruption. Note the parental gate is a multiplication question or a 4-digit passcode you set — a soft gate, not absolute security for an older child. Pausing management means sliding the switch all the way inside the parent area, and it only pauses — rules aren't deleted. The home screen shows a clear "Management paused" notice with a "Resume management" button.

From 1.1.20261012. When an app is locked outside its unlock window, on a day it isn't allowed, or after the daily limit runs out, the lock screen shows "Ask for 10 more minutes". Tapping it only sends a request — nothing unlocks — and the screen changes to say the request was sent. Open RestBud on that device and the request is at the top of the home screen; pass the parental gate and give 10 minutes, pick another amount, or say not now. Only that one app opens, and it locks again when the time is up. It isn't offered during a rest break. Turn the feature on or off and set the amount in parent settings; an active extra-time grant can also be ended early there.

Update to 1.1.20261009 or later. Before that, the settings screen could look empty while paused, even though the rules were kept. Now the rules stay on the settings screen while paused; edits you save while paused are kept and take effect when you resume; and the home screen shows "Management paused" with a "Resume management" button that brings your rules straight back.

No. Each device is set up on its own and rules stay on that device. There is no account and no cloud sync in this version.

Yes, from 1.1.20261104. In parent settings open Status & history, then daily and weekly usage: it lists every app used on this device and for how long, marks the apps RestBud manages, and the week view adds a bar per day and a daily average. Screen Time access must be on, and numbers appear once the device has been used for a while. iOS measures and draws them inside a separate report extension; RestBud cannot read, store or send them.

That's how iOS works: "no deleting apps" covers every app on the device, not only RestBud. From 1.1.20261104 you don't need to switch protection off. In parent settings, tap "Allow deleting apps for 10 min" under Device protections, delete what you need, and protection comes back by itself after 10 minutes. Please don't switch off RestBud's Screen Time access to get around it, because iOS then removes every rule and protection.

Yes, from 1.1.20261023. RestBud fills the screen whether the phone is folded or open; everything else works the same as on other iPhones.

The most likely cause is that Screen Time authorization was revoked in iOS Settings. RestBud detects this when it opens or returns to the foreground and shows a warning banner — re-granting authorization restores your existing rules. The diagnostics panel in parent settings shows the current schedule state if you need more detail.

RestBud collects no data. Rules and your voice recording are stored only on the device, and usage information from Screen Time never leaves it. See the Privacy Policy.

1.1.20261005 起不會了。休息規則的一輪會切成小格計算（30 分鐘一輪時約 5 分鐘一格）；兩格之間放下的時間達到你設定的休息長度，就算真的休息過，這一輪重新計時。短暫放下還是會累計，離開一分鐘不會歸零。1.0 時一輪是整天累計的，所以才會出現下午一拿起來就被鎖的情況。家長設定的「執行狀況紀錄」看得到每條休息規則這一輪玩到哪。

網站可以，1.1.20261009 起用白名單的方式：在家長設定打開「網站白名單」，全天只有清單裡的網站打得開，其他網站一律封鎖，Safari 和其他瀏覽器都一樣。可以一鍵加入 YouTube（連同播放影片需要的網域）或學校網站，也能自己輸入，最多 50 個；首頁會列出「可以開的網站」，孩子點一下就開。它是「只放行清單內、全天有效」：網站沒有分時段，也不能只擋某幾個、其餘放行；清單是空的就所有網站都打不開。類別：在系統 App 選擇器裡勾「類別」（或網站）仍然不會生效，選的時候會提示。

先更新到 1.1.20261005 以上：1.0 的家人錄音存放位置會被 iOS 靜音，提醒可能沒聲音，這已經修好。然後檢查：(1) RestBud 的通知權限已允許（語音設定頁會常駐顯示目前權限狀態與前往系統設定的捷徑）；(2) 手機實體靜音鍵沒開——1.1 起提醒是時效性通知，專注模式不會再壓成無聲，但實體靜音仍會；(3) 錄音不超過 12 秒——超過的只會播前 12 秒，建議重錄一句短的。不論哪種情況，畫面仍然會照時間鎖上，只有聲音受影響。

Apple 的遮罩畫面是靜態的，無法跑即時計時器。所以 RestBud 改成直接把恢復時間寫在畫面上——「HH:MM 就可以再玩囉」；而且孩子每次點開被鎖的 App，畫面都會用當下的資訊重新產生一次。即時倒數已列入後續規劃。

1.1.20261012 起，到家長設定的「裝置保護」打開這幾個開關：不准刪除 App（RestBud 不會被刪掉）、不准安裝 App、不准 App 內購、鎖住日期與時間、擋成人網站。按「儲存並套用」後由 RestBud 直接套用，不必再去 iOS 設定裡找；暫停管控時一起暫停。這些保護只在 RestBud 有螢幕使用時間存取權時有效，存取權在設定裡被關掉，iOS 會一併拿掉，App 會留下中斷紀錄。另外，家長閘是一道乘法題或你設定的 4 位數密碼，屬於軟性防線，對夠大的孩子不是絕對安全。暫停管控要在家長區裡把滑桿滑到底，而且只是暫停、不刪除規則；首頁會顯示醒目的「管控暫停中」，旁邊有「恢復管控」按鈕。

1.1.20261012 起。App 因為不在解鎖時段、今天沒開放或每日上限用完而被鎖住時，鎖住的畫面會出現「跟爸媽要 10 分鐘」。按下去只是送出請求、不會解鎖，畫面會改成「已經問爸媽了」。你在那台裝置打開 RestBud，首頁最上面就是這筆請求；過家長閘後可以給 10 分鐘、選其他時間，或按「不行」。答應了只有那一個 App 多開，時間到自動鎖回。休息中不能要。要不要開這個功能、一次給幾分鐘，都在家長設定裡改；加時中也可以在那裡提早結束。

請更新到 1.1.20261009 以上。之前的版本暫停時設定頁可能看起來是空的，但規則其實都還在。現在暫停期間規則照樣留在設定頁；暫停中改了按「儲存」會先存起來，恢復管控後才生效；首頁會顯示「管控暫停中」，按「恢復管控」就回到原本的規則。

不行。每台裝置各自設定、規則存在該台裝置上。這一版沒有帳號，也沒有雲端同步。

可以，1.1.20261104 起。在家長設定打開「執行狀況紀錄」裡的每日、每週用量：列出這台裝置上用過的每個 App 和各用多久，RestBud 納管中的 App 會標出來，週頁還有每天的長條和每日平均。要先開啟螢幕使用時間存取權，裝置用過一段時間後才會有數字。這些數字由 iOS 在獨立的報表元件裡統計、畫出來，RestBud 讀不到、不存、也傳不出去。

這是 iOS 的設計：「不准刪除 App」會擋住裝置上所有 App，不只 RestBud。1.1.20261104 起不用把保護關掉：在家長設定的「裝置保護」按「暫時允許刪除 App（10 分鐘）」，刪完要刪的，10 分鐘後保護自動恢復。請不要為了刪 App 去關掉 RestBud 的螢幕使用時間存取權，關掉後 iOS 會把所有規則和保護一起拿掉。

可以，1.1.20261023 起。闔起來、打開來都會填滿畫面，其他功能和一般 iPhone 一樣。

最可能的原因是螢幕使用時間的授權在 iOS 設定裡被撤銷了。RestBud 會在開啟或回到前景時偵測並顯示警示 banner——重新授權後，原本的規則就會恢復。若需要更多細節，家長設定裡的診斷面板會顯示目前的排程狀態。

RestBud 不收集任何資料。規則與你的錄音只存在裝置本機，螢幕使用時間取得的使用資訊也不會離開裝置。詳見隱私權政策。
